And not in a locked post, even!
My brother and I moved into a house with his engaged friends at the end of February, and all-in-all it's going fine. They have three cats, which can be weird with how stealthy they are. I'll, like, toss something on the bed, turn back to the computer, turn around again ten seconds later and SURPRISE cats on the bed. They're planning something! I know it!!
On the job front, I started applying to outside companies and actually got a response! And a phone interview! I'm supposed to hear about a one-on-one interview next week, apparently. I found out today, however, that two editors at my current job are leaving their positions (one to an expanding team and another quitting) so there'll be two openings. Surely one of these will be fruitful for me. SURELY. At least in the meantime my current company did a "market evaluation" and pretty much everyone's salary got a bump.
On the fanfic front, I am still actually working on How You Sleep. I definitely want to finish it before this sudden surge of being-an-adult takes me over. :P |

I'm still plugging away at How You Sleep (and of course the latest chapter completely changed), and I realized I can't remember something:
Why, in Volume 3, did Peter need to absorb future!Sylar's intuitive aptitude?? All I see in heroeswiki is that future!Peter told him he needed it to Save the World. But what would IA have helped? Would it have just made Peter more badass to take down his dad? Or is this just another Heroes plot point that didn't really make any sense and went nowhere? |

Comcast has awful customer service! In case you didn't already know.
My old address has the cable box and remote billed to it, even though I was instructed to leave it at the apartment since it's part of an ongoing bulk service between Comcast and the apartment management.
My new address' bill is completely jacked up. The only thing I should be charged for is 29.99 for service, and somehow the bill adds up to $60. Looking at the details, I cannot figure out where this additional $30 is coming from.
Not looking forward to straightening things out with them AGAIN tomorrow. |

The move went as well as a move can go with just a 26-year-old woman and her 50-something father. Luckily Friday wasn't very hot (unlike the day my once-roommate and I moved into the apartment), so most of the annoyance was just with moving my entire life. Oh, and Comcast tried to charge me for internet installation when I self-activated the connection, but I straightened that out (all by myself! like a real adult!).
My brother doesn't move in until mid-July, so it's been quiet. Too quiet. I'm honestly creeped out at times.
It's nice to have a bigger room, but I'm definitely not used to having two floors. The kitchen used to be just a few yards away, so it's a bit of a pain. But it has way more cabinets than the apartment kitchen. The bigger space in general also calls for at least some decorating, which I normally wouldn't bother with, but my mom worked her influence. We got one picture for the dining room, but for the living room we did something she saw on one of those DIY TLC shows. We took three sheets of foam board and glued fabric over them. Cheap art! Now I just have to put them up on the wall. Maybe tomorrow...
My commute is about an hour now, but the traffic is generally fine. That time and using the gym at work is really cutting into my bullshitting time, I have to say. Why improve myself when I could be playing video games or writing fanfic?!

My roommate is already gone (though some of her stuff is still here), and it looks like I'll be out by Friday. Then on Saturday we regroup for any cleaning!
In the meantime... god, I forgot how much moving sucks. Why do I have all this crap? WHHHYYYY????
I need to do some serious inventory once I have everything at the new place... |
